Optimus Rhyme digs Ping Pong

I now share with you a track that will transport your brain to a realm where Ping Pong is a celebrated, lucrative sport. Professional Ping Pong players travel the world and compete against each other in epic battles, testing the strength of their training like warriors of legend. Robots give seminars on the finer arts of brutal backhand hits. They study their chosen craft under wizened shidoshis, who are willing to impart the intricacies of their forbidden, reality-altering techniques - if the seeking student is willing to pay the price.

Achieve white, spherical enlightenment by absorbing the hidden perspective behind the beats. There exists a point in the ever-cascading multiverse where this is all true. Check out the Ping Pong Song and experience it.

OPTIMUS RHYME BY COREY LEWIS

Finnish rapping about piracy

Not the kind of piracy like back in the day, with yo and the ho and the bottle of the rum. This song is all about pulling files from secret FTP Servers.

Near as I can tell, “Leech Axss” seems to be two dudes that show their pride in the craft of electronic piracy by calling bitches out on their lack of ability in achieving the same. The combative forces behind a the majority of hip hop are most definitely present, as exemplified by some of the lyrics - “Yo yo yo, where’s your zero day? You ain’t got no zero day because you’re gay“. The name of the group is an aural double entendre, and as they chant it during the chorus, the dual brilliance really shines on through. I can’t find much information on the group beyond what I’ve stated here, but I know they have some ties to YTMND, because I snagged the track on one of that site’s soundtrack releases. It’s a laugh riot if you’re the type of person who’s ever connected to IRC, or perused the scummy bottom of the internet seeking a crack of some sort. While we at Beatswamp most definitely do not condone piracy, we realize that it’s a reality of life on the internet for a lot of people. This song is obviously dedicated to them.

This track isn’t for sale anywhere. It’s free!

Zero Day

Creed Busted Faking

I snagged this from a dude named Agent51 over @ the Mysterious Universe forums.

The story:

“I just found out that creed used pre-recorded sounds when playing live, just like Milli Vanilli did! One of their roadies came forward and exposed them by recording them live through their equipment when they didnt know it. Well, Creed you’re busted! “

lol

…climbed Mt Sinai, got high at the top

…blew a cloud straight up and the voice that I heard said “YOU WERE BORN TO FRONT” I said “Word?”

So apparently Moses was high as a mofugg when he received the Ten Commandments back in the day, at least according to one researcher. The article reminded me of the following track by reigning co-king of Nerdcore MC Frontalot:

MC Frontalot - Mountain Kind

(This album is, sadly, unavailable on iTunes :(

The other co-king is mc chris, but we’ll get to him later. Frontalot is another dude who’s every effort I support with my pocketbook. In fact - and this is kind of retarded - he released a track for free that got me back into buying music: Charity Case. There’s a certain slipshod method to the way he rhymes that I appreciate, a method I feel transcends the content of his verse (though he usually covers topics I appreciate…like Goth Girls). A truly amazing artist. I can’t wait until he comes out with another album.

It doesn’t hurt that he routinely works with kick-ass comic artists. The top album art is by Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade fame, and the bottom album art is by none other than Tony Moore, who used to draw The Walking Dead. This is one of many up and comers who compose music about things for which I hold a most ferocious interest. NERDCORE, people. Freaking Nerdcore. It will RISE UP.

Obfuscation

Here’s a new game that we’re gonna play at the ol’ Beatswamp every now and again. I post a track, you try to guess what it is. What glorious fun! This will probably only happen when I stay up too late.

PICTURE UNRELATED

Can you name the track?

It is unavailable on iTunes :)

Cheaters can find out where to purchase the track after the jump.

Dude’s got talent! I appreciate him dropping a link to us :)

Grant, buddy - this track is dedicated to you and the exceedingly envious life you’ve built for yourself. It’s about a young girl named Lucy who spent her every waking moment drawing. She drew, drew, and drew, to a point that some would say was to the detriment of all other facets of her existence. She created art until her hands were gnarled and useless, but she wasn’t “living her dream”, as you’ll hear in the lyrics - she had become what she desired. It’s a linear tale of a strong life chosen, where passion and living become the same thing and are expressed in great abundance, from inception to death. It’s probably one of my all time favorite songs. I hope you get a kick out of it.

New Nine Inch Nails record available for download RIGHT NOW!

ghosts.nin.com — NIN surprises us with an unexpected self-released album: almost 2 hours / 36 instrumental tracks described as “music for daydreams.” Available as a $5 download, or a FREE album-length download, as well as a variety of physical configurations. The new business model done right?

All above text ripped from Digg…and I’ve yet to give it a listen myself.  Still, imminently relevant to The Beatswamp and, honestly, the music industry in general.  Trent Reznor’s proclination towards digital downloading has been well documented, and he seems to be putting his money where his maw is…quite literally.  His music helped get me through my teens; I’m a staunch supporter of his efforts…so I’ll definitely be dropping him a cool five bones once I get some extra scratch.  If you’ve ever enjoyed a NiN song, I highly recommend you do the same.  We are all in the midst of a reinvention of how we snag music, and make no mistake:  participation is key.  Do yourself a favor and pony up.

NiN - Ghosts I - IV

Attack Your Day

It doesn’t matter who you are, it doesn’t matter what you tell other people if they walk in and hear you listening to this track - I KNOW a part of you is gonna dig it. I now provide you with six minutes and forty seven seconds of audio that is gonna pump you up for the work week as it simultaneously rocks your face off:

DRAGONFORCE - FURY OF THE STORM

DRAGONFORCE - SONIC FIRESTORM

Buy this album on iTunes!

Check out the cheesy cover art, man. That type of sensibility permeates every riff and lyric it represents - but doesn’t serve to make the proceedings less epic by the smallest iota. Fury of the Storm is an uplifting masterpiece of unapologetic guitar-driven metal. Give it a shot, then go fantasize about saving the planet. It’s probably best to listen to it while driving alone, where you can turn it up as much as you can without fear of being interrupted.

You’re lucky this isn’t an all oldschool Suburban Base blog

Because I tell ya, it so easily could be. I’ve got gigs and gigs of ancient hardcore just aching to be posted. So, then: A two-fer this time, all from the same album:
